Around 10,000 BC, during the Neolithic revolution humans shifted from a hunter-gatherer lifestyle to a sedentary farming lifestyle.
In the 1800s, new patterns of crop rotation and livestock management ushered in the agricultural revolution. In the 1900's the machine revolution allowed for many previously manual tasks to be accomplished by machines, both in the field and during the harvesting, packaging, and supply chain process.
