What is the origin story of Tech 4.0?

The Controlled Environment Agriculture (CEA) 4.0 Online/Virtual Event is in its 4th year now and was born through the interest of a developing industry that uses smart processes and technologies to adapt how we grow and distribute produce.

Tech 4.0 is dedicated to creating communities within technology development, productivity and sustainability, it was therefore an important step to create CEA 4.0 to continue to enable our company philosophy to be met, as well as to create a cost-effective and accessible meeting platform for the indoor farming community. The CEA 4.0 event allows the community to meet and support each other with the mutual aim of the continued development of the industry.

What are some of the biggest challenges facing Tech 4.0 in the future?

CEA 4.0 actually addresses the many well documented challenges in the CEA industry. We take a two-pronged approach at the event, with two conference rooms running simultaneously. Conference Room 1 focuses on "Smart Solutions for Enhanced Performance and Operations of the Farm" and Conference Room 2 focuses on "Smart Solutions for Optimising Plant Growth", on the 17th (Conference Day 1) and 31st May (Conference Day 2). By having 50+ live presentations and two streams over the two days focusing on the challenges, development and solutions of the farm and the evolution and progress of the growing of plants, we ensure we discuss and explore the many encompassed challenges that are facing farms, farmers, growers and solution providers within the industry.

What is unique about Tech 4.0 compared to competitors?

Hosting and running CEA 4.0 virtually as an online event provides a cost-effective, accessible and resource efficient way for indsutry stakeholders to meet virtually and collaborate to share best practices and to also make those important industry connections that are enabling continued productivity and advancement of this sector. For example, farmers, growers and employees of farms that are solely focused on growing food or produce directly for consumer consumption can currently attend for free (£0.00), and solution providers providing products and services to indoor farms can have full event access for the current price of £9.99. An attendee has a stream of benefits including full conference & event access provided for the entire event, instant messaging and 1-1 video networking on the event platform with any of the attendees over the course of 21 days, customisable company & attendee profiles with various multimedia content options, and access to recordings of the live presentations after each Conference Day.

Any exciting news about the company upcoming in the future that you can share?

CEA 4.0 has been growing year on year since it was established and launched in 2020. We had over 750 indoor farming professionals from over 350 farms, farmers, produce suppliers and industry solution providers attend in 2023 and we are excited to see the current attendee registering rates for 2024 on course to be the biggest CEA 4.0 event yet.

With 50+ indivudal presenters and presentations we very much welcome the current conference presenters of AdeptAg, AgriFORCE Growing Systems, AGronomic IQ, ARCO/Murray, Artechno Growsystems, Bluelab, Burleigh Dodds Science Publishing, Danfoss, ENKITEK, Ferme d'Hiver/Winter Farm, Fischer Farms, FlexFarming, Gardin, Gigrow, GingerOS, Greenlux, Heliospectra, Jiffy Group, Philips Horticulture LED Solutions, Radical Clean Solutions, Re-Nuble, SERA Intelligence, Siemens, Sollum Technologies, Square Roots, TEKTELIC Communications, The Advanced Plant Growth Centre (APGC), TotalGrow Lights, TTA, UK Urban AgriTech (UKUAT), Vertical Future, Viscon Group, VitalFluid, Wageningen University & Research, Zayndu, who will be informing the industry of the advancements, innovations and efficiencies that are ongoing to support the evolution and development of the indoor farming industry.
