This interview details Pure Greens Container Farms, an indoor farming company based in the United States. The interview is with Taisiya Jacobson, President & Co-Founder of Pure Greens Container Farms.
My husband Damon and I founded Pure Greens in 2015. We saw the need to revolutionize the ag industry. Damon has been in the shipping container industry for more than 25 years and I am originally from Europe with a background in the restaurant industry.
When arriving in America, I noticed the food was missing the same taste and flavor it had in Europe. With God’s wisdom in prayer, we decided we needed to introduce a product that would give all Americans access to healthy, flavorful and nutritious greens. We combined our backgrounds and created Pure Greens Container Farms.
The Ag industry in general is always facing challenges – it’s part of a farmer’s journey. It is challenged worldwide with limited irrigation, the cost of gas, and the cost of fertilizers, and so Pure Greens Container Farms has become a problem solver for farmers, especially in the desert, like the Middle East. With a Pure Greens Container Farm you only need 5-8 gallons of water per day to cultivate your crops. You can even capture and reuse that water, so it’s very sustainable. There’s also no need spray your crops with pesticides or herbicides when growing crops in a Pure Greens Container Farm. This is a big win for farmers and industries who have limited access to irrigation and industries desiring growing their own foods.
We build all our container farms in-house at our 90,000 sq. ft. fabrication center in Phoenix, AZ. We have a full staff of welders, fabricators, engineers, and horticulturists who specialize in modifying shipping containers and hydroponic growing. Many competitors outsource the fabrication of their farms, but we don’t. This is also gives us a unique ability to completely customize container farms to match any customer’s specific needs.
We are always perfecting our farms and working hand-in-hand with growers, horticulturists, and ag industry leaders to align our customers needs. We are striving to be the problem solvers in the indoor ag industry. We are growing quickly and currently have 70 engineers, welders, fabricators, electricians, carpenters, growers, and painters on staff at our 90,000 sq. ft. facility who are dedicated to developing and building Pure Greens Container Farms.
We offer several different sizes for the farms, but the most typical 40 ft. unit can grow up to 6,300 plants within 320 sq. ft.
One of our current goals is designing new container farm systems that will be able to grow new crops we haven’t launched before.
We invite anyone interested in learning more to visit puregreensaz.com or call 833.217.4025. Our team is happy to answer any questions you have and get your container farm set up. We also offer training for both experienced and new farmers.
