This article details Hans Premium Water, a water treatment company based in the United States. The interview is with Rick Cunningham, Chief Commercial Officer of Hans Premium Water.
Our founder, also founder of the 5Hr Energy brand, initiated the company to support small villages in India with clean water, leading to the development of our unique water treatment technology. This technology, foundational to our mission, has been expanded and brought to North America, diversifying into a range of applications from small residential to large-scale industrial solutions. HANS Premium Water, initially focused on residential water treatment systems, has evolved into a manufacturer and provider of water treatment systems across commercial, industrial, and residential sectors.
HANS has a significant presence in controlled environment agriculture. Our engagement with indoor agriculture emerged as a natural progression of our business as we expanded our product line, attracting customers who demand consistent and clean water for their plants. The predictability and purity of water are crucial in this sector for nutrient mixing and plant growth. The modular and efficient design of our systems, which allows more water production in less space, has made us an attractive option in this field.
We are seeing significant growth overall in indoor farming and much of the growth is new build which helps as water treatment can be planned in from the onstart. We have also started to observe some consolidation in certain sectors, especially in the cannabis sector, where market dynamics are changing quickly. To help ensure there is a good fit for a HANS solution we conduct thorough due diligence with our customers to ensure their needs align with our capabilities. Our focus remains on adapting to the changing market dynamics while maintaining strong business principles.
Hans Premium Water is an international entity with about 300 employees globally and roughly 100 in the United States. We have over 1,000 systems installed, with half of these in the U.S., spanning from residential to large-scale applications. Our largest customer base lies in indoor agriculture.
We begin with a water chemistry analysis to tailor our systems to each customer's needs and environment. Our systems are energy-efficient and excel in water efficiency, a crucial factor in today's context of water scarcity. Our unique reverse osmosis systems and membrane design allow us to achieve higher recovery rates, meaning we waste less water to produce clean water. Additionally, our modular approach allows for easy expansion and maintenance, further enhancing our systems' appeal.
Since our inception in 2018, we've seen significant growth and expansion in our product line and overall business. We expect to continue that growth as we focus on entities that use high volumes of water like large indoor farmers. Our robust product line now addresses a wide range of applications, supporting our continued growth trajectory.
We are a customer-focused organization, treating each project uniquely. We understand that no two water needs or qualities are the same, even in similar environments. Our commitment to tailor-made solutions, backed by a team of dedicated engineers and service professionals, sets us apart in the market.
