What is the origin story of Allwell Greens?

Allwell Greens is an indoor vertical farm specializing in producing heritage Asian Greens, responsibly grown, pesticide-free and herbicide-free. This is the brainchild of the two CoFounders who come from the Wholesale produce industry. We were so frustrated with the traditional supply chain and all the issues that constantly plague it. So, we decided to build a modern supply chain with the products we wanted.

What are some of the biggest challenges facing Allwell Greens in the future?

Our biggest challenge is crossing cultures: Asian greens are for everyone. We want to introduce a variety of greens to the masses, as they are not just for Asians. While Bok Choy is well-known, there are so many more varieties out there. Our goal is to bring multicultural greens to your daily table, educating consumers while also opening up new pathways and markets for food access.

What is unique about Allwell Greens compared to competitors?

The founders of Allwell Greens comes from a produce wholesale background specializing in Asian produce with over 30 years combined working with national producers, regional and local farms.

We consider ourselves as modern farmers. Indoor vertical farming is a method of farming and technology as a tool to create efficiencies rather than the mantra of tech first then the farm.

How do you measure the impact of Allwell Greens so far? (Revenue, Employees, Customer Quantity, Production Volume) etc?

Over the past two years, our company has undergone significant growth and transformation. We started as a small team test-growing out of a co-working office in downtown Manhattan. Now we operate out of a newly built 5000sqft facility and producing commercial volumes. The growth of our sales pipeline is just one indication of how far we've come, but it's only the beginning of our journey.

To ensure we continue to grow and succeed, we use Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to measure important metrics such as yields, growth time, shelf-life, and sales. By monitoring these metrics, we can make data-driven decisions and continuously improve our processes.

Our focus on quantitative measurement has led to significant improvements in our operations. We've been able to identify areas where we can optimize our processes to increase yields and reduce growth time. We've also been able to extend the shelf-life of our products and increase sales.

Overall, we're proud of the progress we've made so far, but we're always looking for ways to improve. With our commitment to using KPIs and data-driven decision making, we're confident that we'll continue to grow and achieve our goals.

What have you learned that you wish you knew when you joined or started the company?

Finding the right investors is key. Don't be swayed from your vision and distracted by tech hype in agriculture. At the end of the day, we are growers. No amount of tech will change what you grow, just how.
