Energy and climate change, However, water will be one of the most dominant issues or factors as the future progresses.

“Patented” vertical farming tech grows many times per square foot with easy maintenance and cropping for commercial operations.

What is the current size of your growing area?

15,000 ft.² of commercial R&D production for strawberries, with plans to build more as well as servicing our fresh bay client for an additional 860,000 ft.² all for strawberries in Alberta

Do you use CO2 in your operation today -- if so, how much and what do you pay for it? What are your thoughts in CO2 usage in indoor farms?

We do not use CO2 in Abbotsford. We’ve only used fresh air intake however, the Alberta facility with fresh bay will utilize the exhaust from the Cogen units to scrub for CO2 and carbon credits.

Energy is a big topic in indoor farming right now. How much do you pay for electricity (kWh)? Is it mainly from the grid or renewables?

The 860,000 square-foot facility in Alberta will be run with full Cogen for heat and electricity, with the potential of geothermal through Novis Earth, also working with fresh bay on site.
